Raphaël Colantonio, co-founder and former president and co-creative director of Arkane, has teased a brand new WolfEye Studios project that will make fans of Dishonored and Prey “happy.” While it’s yet to be revealed, Colantonio has promised to reveal “a bit more” about the game in the next few days, so keen players have something to chew on.

This mystery project, which is assumed to be a first-person immersive sim like Dishonored and Prey, based on wording, will be the second game from WolfEye Studios, following the release of top-down ARPG, Weird West. Notably, the studio was formed with former Arkane executive producer Julien Roby in 2019, following Colantonio’s departure from Arkane.

At the time of the studio’s formation, Colantonio and Roby released a joint statement describing their goal to create “games in which players live their own adventures in rich simulated worlds that respond to actions and decisions in ways that are unique to each playthrough.” With experience working on Prey, Dishonored, and other Arkane titles, the WolfEye team aims to create rich worlds and stories for player to experiment within.

It’s likely the studio’s upcoming project will continue this mission statement.

While details of this project are currently scarce, the game has previously been described as a first-person “retro sci-fi RPG.” An early, blurry screenshot posted by Colantonio also revealed concept art featuring flying mechanical machines, and what seems to be a high-tech factory in a desert, surrounded by cactuses.

In March 2024, the game was being pitched to publishers at GDC, and in response to a commenter on Twitter / X, Colantonio also recently confirmed that while the game is not ready for public or media play, it’s already being shown to industry partners and publishers. For now, it’s not clear if the game has a publishing deal, but with Colantonio teasing an imminent reveal, it seems likely that plans are in motion.

For now, we await more news, as Colantonio and the wider WolfEye Studios team prepares to reveal more about what’s in the works. Fans of Dishonored and Prey should certainly pay attention, given the experience backing this new project.
