PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting three new, free games to download in December 2024, including an excellent co-op platformer that would make for great holiday gaming, a spooky horror-strategy game, and a plucky contender to the Pokemon throne. That’s right, It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem are your free PlayStation Plus games for the month.
It Takes Two is a weird, wild adventure that invites two players to experience the journey of Cody and May, a young, tumultuous couple who get turned into living dolls by a magic spell. Shrunk down in size, they must learn to work together to conquer the obstacles in their path, and find a way to return to normal.
Aliens: Dark Descent is a horror-infused combat strategy game where you lead a squad of fighters against roving hordes of alien Xenomorphs and other beasties. The core twist is that your tactics will be studied by the aliens, and they’ll eventually adapt to suit your playing style – so you’ll need to constantly switch up how you fight.

Finally, we’ve got Temtem. This is a creature collecting and battling game that allows you to explore a range of islands populated by cool, cuddly beasts. It’s heavily inspired by Pokemon, but with a few key twists – for example, it features online multiplayer elements, so you can play alongside your friends.
All of the above games will be available for PlayStation Plus subscribers to download from 3 December 2024. Until this date, subscribers will also be able to claim November’s free monthly games: Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and Death Note: Killer Within.
PlayStation Plus: Sly 2, Sly 3, and Jak and Daxter are coming to the Classics Catalog
As a fun little aside in the PlayStation Blog update, it’s also been confirmed that Sly 2: Band of Thieves, Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and Jak and Daxter will be added to the Classics Catalog of PlayStation Plus in December 2024. These games will only be available to those on the Premium or Deluxe PS Plus tiers – so if you’re looking to get nostalgic, you might need to upgrade (or restart) your subscription.
