Charity initiative Game On Cancer is returning this April, with Cure Cancer now calling for streamers ‘of all shapes and sizes’ to help raise money for essential cancer research in Australia. From 28 April 2022 to 11 May 2022, the Game On Cancer initiative will go live across Twitch and other platforms, with streamers encouraged to fundraise as they stream.
To join the initiative, all streamers will need to do is join the Cure Cancer Tiltify page, and encourage their audience to donate as they stream. Everyone who joins will have a chance to become a Game On Cancer MVP and earn ‘exclusive merch’ to celebrate donation milestones.
The current goal for donations is AU $50,000, which will go directly towards funding the next six months of cancer research at Cure Cancer – but there’s hope the donation amount will greatly exceed this, with the help of Australian streamers.

Game On Cancer has been a very successful event in the past, with prior events raising a total of AU $410,000 for cancer research. According to Cure Cancer, this was enough to fund four full years of research.
Thanks to the efforts of streamers like Loserfruit, Drewdog, PandaTV and Aussie Antics, the organisation was able to provide early career researchers with around 540 research grants to pursue new avenues for treatment.
This year’s event is being supported by a number of new ambassadors including Australian gaming channel Back Pocket, and American gaming personality Jeff Cannata.
Cure Cancer is currently calling for more help, and encourages all streamers to head to Tiltify to learn more about its work, and why the ‘Superhero Streamers’ initiative is so important to saving lives. Those who aren’t able to stream are also encouraged to donate, either directly to Cure Cancer, or via their favourite streamers in April and May.
